MESSAGE FROM DEPT CHAIR

I would like to welcome you to Department of Biomedical Engineering at Mahidol University, Thailand. We are the first and only biomedical engineering department in Thailand, so far. Mahidol University is the best medical oriented university in Thailand. Our university has three medical schools and four medical institutes. Therefore, our department has an extraordinary strength for research supports from medical side. Our department is aiming to conduct biomedical engineering research at the cutting edge level. Our research includes 6 important tracks; Biosignal and Image Processing, Tissue Engineering and Drug Delivery Systems, Advanced Computing in Medicine, Rehabilitation Engineering and Artificial Organs, Medical Robotics and Computer-Integrated Surgery, and Biosensors.

Our department offers outstanding undergraduate and leading graduate programs which cover Bachelors degree, Masters degree and Ph.D. degree. our undergraduate program is one of the top and the most competitive engineering programs in Thailand. The program is to prepare our undergraduate students to become young scientists with research experience. The students will be rotated around through our sophisticated research center and laboratories to experience different fields of biomedical engineering research conducted at our department. Our graduate programs, both Master and Ph.D., are coursework-based with intensive biomedical engineering research projects. Our graduate students are expected to become high experience researchers or creative innovators after working with one of our faculty members in their facilities. Moreover, we have also been collaborating with several institutes and organizations both national and international levels. These activities are to promote and benchmark our research and academics to the international level.
